Keys to Setting Up Before the Big Day
It’s likely that your to do list will go from a mile long to pretty much non-existent in the last few weeks leading up to your wedding day. However, there are a couple of housekeeping items that you do not want to lose sight of. One being the logistics as to how you plan to ensure that every item needed for the wedding makes it there on time and is easy to locate. To keep it straight, follow these few simple tips. Keep in mind that timeframes will vary based on if you are located in the same city, are toting everything around yourself, or all calling in all the forces to pitch in.
1. Ask the venue if you can start dropping off décor a week or two in advance. If you are getting married in a different city than where you live, ask if you can ship items directly to the venue.
2. Label your boxes with your name and what they consist of.
3. Print out instructions for what the items are and where they should go. Do not bank on having time to make sure you can make your own tweaks on your wedding day – you will be busy!
4. If possible, ask certain family members or friends to be in charge of certain vendor items to pick up and return for you after your wedding day. This will make the workload easier on you and everybody else. Mom and Dad may be rock stars, but this is a really big job. There will be rental décor to return, cake to freeze, a wedding dress to preserve, a tux to clean or return, flowers to keep (your bouquet), gifts to tote back to your new home, etc.
